Fighting the Risk Factors Affecting Our Health

You’ve probably heard already that cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death for men and for women in the United States. But did you know there are early warning signs that you may have health problems which could be a precursor to cardiovascular disease? Did you know that by identifying these factors early and fighting them, you can actually improve your heath and prevent things from getting much worse?

One of those factors that suggest you might be having a problem is coldness feet and hands. Because cardiovascular disease is related to a narrowing of the arteries (a condition known as arthrosclerosis) that makes it harder for the oxygen-rich blood to reach the body, the hands and feet are the most likely parts of your body to lose out on your blood supply first. As a result, you may notice coldness, as well as tingling or numbness.

If you start experiencing neurological problem, such as forgetfulness or an inability to focus, this could also be related. If oxygen-rich blood can’t get into your brain, then it’s going to end up suffering the consequences: tissue damage. And that tissue damage is sometimes not reversible. There is also some research suggesting that a buildup of metal in the brain could lead to Alzheimer’s disease – that’s a scary proposition.

Another major risk factor that you might be having circulatory problems is increased fatigue. Your muscles and tissue need to have a steady supply of oxygen rich blood feeding them; otherwise, they can’t properly function. Also, the red blood cells help carry the nutrients and oxygen you need to keep your body moving. When that doesn’t happen, you’re going to start feeling more exhausted and having a harder time moving forward with what you need to stay healthy – namely exercise.

If you start feeling any or all of these symptoms, one of the best things you can do is start oral chelation therapy while also making lifestyle changes to help reduce your cholesterol.

Chelation Therapy & Vascular Problems

The term vascular disease refers to conditions that affect the circulatory system. These diseases occur when plague builds up along the walls of the arteries and make it more difficult for blood and oxygen (carried by the blood) to reach the parts of the body, including tissues. When this happens, the consequences can be serious.

For example, vascular problems can lead to nerve and tissue damage that can cause pain in the legs. But these problems can also lead to the death of tissue because it is deprived of oxygen for a long period of time. In the most severe cases, vascular disease can cause death.

As you might already know, this condition of plague build up in the arteries is known as arthrosclerosis. Part of what makes this condition worse is the toxins and metals in the body. Those metals can come from a wide range of sources, even your dental fillings! And you can’t get rid of the metals in most ways. If you do one of those body cleanses that make you starve for days or weeks, you still won’t be able to get rid of the metals.

Chelation therapy, on the other hand, can get rid of the metals and can reduce your risk of vascular problems because it will cause the metals to bind with it so it can be removed from the body. Otherwise, the metals continue to build up over time and make your health worse.

Now you might think you could avoid the metals but that’s more difficult than it sounds. These dangerous metals are too prevalent in our environment and in everything we come in contact with to simply ignore them. With chelation therapy, however, you can prevent them from building up in your body and you can help reduce your risk for these serious vascular conditions.

What You Need to Know About Heart Disease

Heart disease is one of those conditions people talk about all the time but rarely explain. Everyone just assumes that everyone else knows the causes of this disease but that’s not always the case. The main reason people develop this condition is because of atherosclerosis which occurs when plague builds up along the walls of the arteries. As more plague is added, the artery gets even narrower.

Narrowed arteries don’t let the oxygen-rich blood flow through the body with sufficient ease. The result is that not enough oxygen is going to reach the heart or other extremities. Without enough oxygen, angina (chest pain) can result. If that artery becomes completely blocked or if part of the plague breaks off and blocks the artery then no oxygen can get to the heart or to the brain. The result is a heart attack or a stroke, respectively.

Are you at risk for heart disease?

Here are some of the risk factors that might make you more vulnerable to this serious health disease and the leading killer of both men and women:

  • Age – Men who are 40 and over and women who are post-menopausal are at greatest risk.
  • Family History – A close family member who has had heart disease, especially before age 50.
  • Other Health Problems – Diabetes, high blood pressure, and kidney disease increase your risk
  • Cholesterol – High LDL levels and low HDL levels can increase the risk of atherosclerosis
  • Smoking
  • Alcohol Abuse
  • Stress
  • Inactive Lifestyle
  • Metabolic Syndrome – A combination of health issues, including excess body weight and high insulin levels

If you are at risk for heart disease, you need to start taking better care of your health. You might also want to consider lifestyle changes, as well as chelation therapy top prevent atherosclerosis.

Are You at Risk – Do You Have Clogged Arteries?

Chances are you already know that clogged arteries are not a sign of good health and longevity. Instead, they could put you at serious risk for major health problems, including strokes and heart attacks. But how do you know if you’re at risk? Here are a few of the key signs:

Do you suffer from general fatigue, tiredness and no-energy? General fatigue and tiredness, not related to heavy strenuous work or activity, indicates that your circulatory system blood flow has decreased and become restricted. This is symptomatic of clogging of the arteries (a buildup of calcium and mineral deposits within your cardio vascular system).

Are you a smoker? If so, you are at significantly greater risk for clogged arteries than non-smokers. The chemicals in cigarettes seem to make atherosclerosis worse. This condition causes the arteries to become stiff and less flexible which makes the problem of arterial blockages more dangerous.

Do you have high blood pressure? Having uncontrolled hypertension also puts you at risk for this health problem. The extra pressure being exerted on your arteries actually speeds up plague formation which means they can become clogged at an earlier age and have longer to do major damage to your heart.

Do you have high LDL cholesterol levels? LDL cholesterol is considered one of the main causes of clogged arteries because these lipoproteins are the ones traveling back into the body and into the arteries where they deliver their cholesterol along the arterial walls. On the other hand, HDL cholesterol is believed to move excess cholesterol safely out of the body.

If you have one, two, or all three the issues stated above then you have a good chance of developing this life-threatening health condition. To prevent clogged arteries from stealing years of your life, you need to do the following:

  • Quit smoking, if applicable
  • Start using Oral chelation therapy – known to help remove toxins and metals from your body so they can’t contribute to the clogged arteries
  • Start bringing down your LDL cholesterol levels through lifestyle changes
  • Increase your HDL cholesterol by consuming omega 3 fatty acids and other good fats
  • Develop a plan with your doctor to lower your blood pressure

Not Necessarily Just Normal Aging

When someone forgets something mid-sentence or finds themselves forgetting what they were just about to do or go, they may say: “Oh, I must just be getting old.” But forgetfulness is not harmless nor does it have to be a normal part of aging. In some cases, this early memory loss could be an early indicator of sometime more serious going on, possibly Alzheimer’s disease. If these symptoms are recognized early, oral chelation may be able to help.

First, let me explain what might very well be going on in the brain of someone who is beginning to notice greater and greater memory dysfunction. Researchers have know seen the build-up of beta amyloid plague inside the brains of people who are suffering from memory loss; the more plague had built-up the more severe the memory loss was. This plague build-up is not unlike what happens in the arteries when you develop atherosclerosis. In fact, high cholesterol levels have been linked to faster buid-up of beta amyloid plague in the brain.

Second, let me tell you what you can do about it. Oral chelation is one of the alternative medicine approaches that are showing a lot of promise in this area. If you’re not familiar with chelation, the underlying idea is that your body is constantly being contaminated not just by cholesterol but by metals and toxins you are picking up every day from the environment. These things build-up in your body and can’t be removed through conventional means, such as antibiotics, but they are slowly poisoning and damaging your body. They contribute to the development of atherosclerosis and now maybe even Alzheimer’s disease.

With oral chelation, you use a chelating agent that literally goes into your body, surrounds these toxins, and safely removes them from your body so they can’t do any more harm. That means you can actually stop memory loss and Alzheimer’s disease in its early stages before it becomes much worse.

That alone might be good reason to try oral chelation for yourself or to recommend it to someone you love.

Just What Should I Eat? - By Judy Cutler

Just What Should I Eat?

Just What Should I Eat?

Well, it’s the beginning of a new year and most of us have made our New Year’s resolutions. For many of us, these include having a healthier, happier and more aesthetic body with lots more energy to enable us to carry out the rest of our resolutions. What we choose to eat is the major area of our health over which we have the most control…So let’s look at the area of food and food allergies.
First of all, the MacMillan Dictionary defines the word food as 1. that which is eaten or otherwise assimilated by an organism to sustain life, provide energy and promote the growth and repair of tissues. The word is derived from Old Engish foda (nourishment). OOPS…There goes about 75% of the American diet!

So, what edible choices actually constitute a food and which foods specifically are correct for your body? Well, beginning with the basics,
there are only two categories of foods: Whole foods and processed foods.

Processed Foods are produced using manufacturing methods that transform raw ingredients into neatly wrapped packages of plastic, cardboard, aluminum foil and tin. They include chemical ingredients, such as monosodium glutamate (MSG), artificial sweeteners, colors and flavors, preservatives, mysterious fillers and hydrogenated oils. All of this is done for the purpose of giving them a long shelf life for the benefit of the retailer and to sell you on the convenience of a quick meal with little or no preparation. They have a long shelf life because they’re dead…There’s nothing in them that’s perishable…The nutrients originally present are gone and replaced with disease causing, lifeless STUFF.
And yes, this is the STUFF upon which “fast food” restaurants prosper.

Whole Foods, on the other hand, are grown in orchards, gardens, greenhouses, dairies and ranches. They are not refined or processed. This means that they are rich in vitamins, minerals, enzymes, fiber, anti-oxidants, protein and phytonutrients that actually feed our cells, provide energy and repair our body parts.

Once you’ve made the upgrade to whole foods, the next echelon is to go Organic so that you’re getting top quality produce that isn’t sprayed with pesticides and herbicides that are toxic to the liver, kidneys and nervous system. Chicken and beef that are organic are allowed to roam free and feed on grasses instead of living in filth and being fed garbage. Organically raised animals are NOT shot full of synthetic estrogen to rapidly fatten them (and us) up, nor are they given antibiotics to neutralize the diseased conditions in which they live. For that same reason, organic butter and cheeses are far superior in health value.

Another major reason to eat organically is that organic foods are not allowed to contain GM (genetically modified) ingredients. GM foods are foodstuffs produced from genetically modified organisms (GMOs). This means that the whole hereditary information of the life form that is encoded in its DNA, be it plant or animal, is altered by scientists using genetic engineering – And that alteration has very detrimental effects on our bodies. So, although these foods look and taste like the cereals, salad dressings and corn on the cob that we’ve always eaten, they are not!

The major genetically engineered crops today are Soy, Canola, Corn and Cotton. Most vegetable oils and margarines used in restaurants and processed foods in the U.S. are made from Soy, Corn, Canola or Cottonseed. At this time, Non-GM oils include olive, sunflower, safflower, almond and most other oils available.

Aspartame, the diet sweetener, is just one example of a genetically engineered product. For more understanding of GM foods and a much more complete list of what they are, plus tips on eating non-GMO in restaurants, see Jeffrey Smith’s website: www.seedsofdeception.com

Just know that for each type of food there is usually a non-GMO brand that’s available. These are mostly found in health food stores, but they also can be found in other markets if you look for them. It’s worth taking the time to read the labels and find the non-GMO foods.

One final note on diet has to include the fact that foods eaten raw, such as salads, sushi or any other food that you could enjoy raw contains the enzymes needed by the body for proper digestion. The second choice to raw is steaming foods to help preserve their enzyme content.

Having a general knowledge of foods to choose from, now the question becomes, “Could any of the unpleasant symptoms that I sometimes experience like bloating, headaches, fatigue, weight gain, mental fogginess, sleeplessness, etc. be caused by eating foods that are wrong for my body?” The answer to this question is a resounding yes! There is a broad spectrum of reasons why individuals can’t tolerate certain foods, even specific foods in the healthy category. Sometimes the cause and effect phenomenon is immediate and you know within minutes to hours that having eaten such ‘n’ such made you sick! But more often than not, the effects of problem foods are cumulative and take months to be toxic to the system; therefore, it’s almost impossible to trace them down. For this reason, I strongly recommend being tested by a nutritionist to find these food allergies and either be tested for the exact enzymes that your body needs to neutralize them or eliminate them while the body is being de-sensitized to them. You’ll be very pleased by the results…Bon Appetit!
